Town of Snowmass Village Launches Community Survey
Snowmass Village, CO – June 28, 2019 – The Town of Snowmass Village has launched its biennial Community Survey, and they are inviting all residents, employees, guests, and community members to weigh in on Town needs and priorities.
The 2019 edition is the 5th iteration of a community-wide survey, and it solicits feedback on a wide range of issues, including satisfaction with Town services, quality of life, workforce housing, composting, and priorities for future capital projects.
Past survey results have played a large role in guiding important Town projects and setting priorities for the community. “The Town Council has made communication a top priority.” Town Manager Clint Kinney explained. “Communication requires listening first, and the Community Survey provides us a chance to listen in a statistically valid format.”
Previous results directly led to the Town making substantial changes to services provided, according to Kinney. In 2017, the Town received low ratings and comments about the lack of information available on the Village Shuttle service. The Town has since implemented route planning information on Google Maps, and have designed and published new brochures for both winter and summer service, Kinney stated. Similarly, due to low ratings received for the condition of paved trails in Snowmass Village, the Town has prioritized and budgeted extra for the re-paving of trails.
The 2019 survey is being conducted electronically, which is available at www.snowmasscommunitysurvey.com. The electronic version allows for greater flexibility and control, according to Travis Elliott, the Assistant Town Manager, “the online platform allows for us to validate responses and limit them to one per person. It is also extra convenient. You can take the survey on your smart phone, and you can even save your progress and finish the survey later.” Town staff estimate that the survey will take approximately 10 minutes to complete, and responses are anonymous.
The Town also has paper versions of the survey available for pick up at Town Hall, for those who prefer putting pen to paper. Regardless of the format you use, Town staff suggest completing the survey before July 14th to make sure your responses are counted and to be included in the prize drawing. All of those who complete the survey before July 14th can enter to win tickets to the JAS Labor Day music festival, a one-year membership to the Snowmass Village Recreation Center, or one of several $100 gift cards to local businesses.
