The Town of Snowmass Village invites members of the public to participate in PLAN Snowmass Village, a project to update the community’s Comprehensive Plan. A comprehensive plan is a long-range policy document that establishes the vision for how the Town wants to continue to grow and evolve over the next 10 to 20 years, providing guidance for how the growth and future development should occur.
The Town has hired Town Planning and Urban Design Collaborative, LLC (TPUDC) to perform the work. TPUDC is a national planning, urban design, coding and outreach firm that specializes in the advancement of walkable, compact, mixed-use, pedestrian friendly environments and memorable places that withstand the test of time. TPUDC also works on projects where there is an interest in informed and directed development and in generating a vision shaped by many hands. They have extensive experience balancing business interests, quality of life for residents, transportation decisions, and all the other forces that work to shape a community.
This Comprehensive Plan is going to shape the future of Snowmass Village and set policy, funding, and regulatory priorities for the next 10 to 20 years. Citizens, business owners, and visitors of Snowmass Village who get involved in the process will inform the vision and plan. Through the process the community will decide what we want Snowmass Village to look like, what is missing, what we need to improve, and what we love and want to celebrate about our Town.
The public will have several opportunities to get engaged and participate in the process, starting with the Project Kick-Off Event coming up next week. Join us to find out more about the PLAN Snowmass Village project. Learn about the goals of the project, provide your ideas, and help us build excitement for future events.
When: Tuesday, October 18, 2016 5:00pm - 6:30pm
Where: Town Hall, 130 Kearns Rd
“At this point in the process we want to know what people love about Snowmass Village and what needs improvements. We look forward to getting more familiar with the Town of Snowmass Village and what it has to offer, as well as meeting community stakeholders and hearing their feedback,” said Brian Wright, Principal of TPUDC.
