[ARCHIVED] Town of Snowmass Village Kicks off Entryway Planning with Public Meeting Aug. 12th

The Snowmass Village Community Development Department invites members of the public to attend and participate in a kick off meeting for the Snowmass Entryway Planning on Tuesday, August 12, 4-6 p.m. at the Snowmass Village Recreation Center.

The first of a series of meetings aims to develop a community vision statement for what is known as the Entryway to Snowmass, a site located on Brush Creek Rd. and currently houses Town Park Station, the Snowmass Village Recreation Center, and the Snowmass Rodeo grounds, and adjacent areas.

“We’re excited to jump start the entryway planning process in earnest after the economic recession halted past planning efforts. Since that time, a great deal has changed and we’re facing new opportunities and challenges as a community,” said Julie Ann Woods, Director of Community Development. By starting with a visioning process we’ll test our past assumptions, and look to find common ground with current priorities.”

During the meeting, participants will participate in an open discussion to develop a vision statement for the project, and identify high level priorities that will provide a strong foundation for conceptual planning. In addition, the project’s technical advisory committee comprised of town staff representing multiple service areas will provide an overview of the schedule and format of future meetings.

“Long-term planning is most effective when we have continuity and consistency in community representation,” Woods said. “If you have an interest in this development project, I encourage you to show up and make your voice heard.”

Pizza and refreshments will be served.
