Town Council invites the public to provide feedback on the planned Snowmass Mall Transit Center during the regular Town Council meeting on February 10 at 4:00 p.m.
Over the past 40 years, the Town has focused on finding the best solution for improving Transit access to and from the Snowmass Mall. Building on the direction of Town Council, Town staff are developing a design for an improved transit experience at the terminus of the Snowmass Mall. This project involves transit partners, including Roaring Fork Transit Authority (RFTA).
The public is invited to provide feedback on this project during the regular Town Council meeting on February 10. The meeting is being held in the Council Chambers at Town Hall (130 Kearns Road) at 4:00 p.m.
Why add a Transit Center to the Snowmass Mall?

- Meets current demand - RFTA & Village Shuttle have dedicated spaces.
- Improve transit users’ experience - adds restrooms and improves waiting areas.

- Conceptual design & environmental assessment completed.
What's the cost?
- The project is estimated to cost between $40-60M, depending on design elements.
- Current funding structure:
- Local sources: $9 million.
- Federal sources: $13.5 million.
- Approximate $20M funding gap to be filled by a combination of local, state, and federal sources.
