The Town of Snowmass Village seeks public input on the Draw Site Workforce Housing Project at the meeting on September 3, 2024.
Following the adoption of the 2021 Workforce Housing Master Plan, the Town has developed a new employee housing opportunity on the parcel of land behind Town Hall known as the Draw Site. The site was identified for employee housing when it was deeded to the Town nearly 40 years ago. The site is near the Snowmass Center, transit stops, and existing infrastructure. Prior to placing an item on the November ballot regarding the proposed financing of the project, the Town Council would like to hear from the Snowmass Village community about this project.
The proposed project would provide 79 affordable housing units between two residential structures. Rents are projected to be approximately $1,400/month for a one-bedroom unit, $2,000 for a two-bedroom unit, and $2,600 for a three-bedroom unit. The priority for these units will be for full-time, year-round Snowmass Village employees. The project is projected to cost $86 million and will be paid for through a combination of rental income, $3 million annual allocation of existing lodging & marketing sales tax revenue, and grants. No new tax revenue will be levied for this project.
Public input on the Draw Site Workforce Housing Project is requested at the meeting on September 3, 2024. Written comments may be submitted online at tosv.com/544/Public-Comment-Participation-for-Public-
