Brush Creek Road Closed Feb. 27 at 12 p.m. through Feb. 28 at 6 p.m. to repair Water Main Break

Traffic in and out of Snowmass Village will be detoured during closure period

Snowmass Village, Colo—February 27, 2014—Today the Snowmass Water and Sanitation District and the Town of Snowmass Village announced that Brush Creek Road between Owl Creek Rd. and Horse Ranch Rd./Town Park Station will be closed to through traffic between 12 p.m. today through 6 p.m. Friday, February 28th to repair a break in a main water line approximately 100 yards north of the Brush Creek Rd. and Sinclair Rd. intersection.

At approximately 2:30 a.m. on February 27th, the Snowmass Village Road Division, Snowmass Village Police Department and the Snowmass Water and Sanitation District responded to a water main break.

Water service was subsequently shut-off to 43 units in the Snowmass Villas Townhomes and Homestead Condominiums, and seven homes on Sinclair Rd. Affected units will be notified immediately by Snowmass Water and Sanitation when water service is restored.

TRAFFIC IMPACTS
Snowmass Water and Sanitation District crews are currently on-site assessing the damaged area, and preparing for needed repairs. From 9a.m. – 12 p.m. on Feb. 27th, there will be one-way traffic with flaggers on Brush Creek Rd. near the Brush Creek and Sinclair Rd. intersection.

At 12 p.m., Brush Creek Rd. between Owl Creek Rd. and Horse Ranch Rd./Town Park Station will be closed to all through traffic between through 6 p.m. Friday, February 28th. This area will be accessible to local traffic only.

The following detours will be in effect to all through traffic:

  • Through traffic travelling into Snowmass Village will be detoured at the Brush Creek Rd. and Highline Rd. to Highline Rd. and Owl Creek Rd.
  • Traffic travelling out of Snowmass Village will be detoured onto Owl Creek Rd. from Brush Creek Rd.

IMPACTS TO PUBLIC TRANSPORTATIONDuring the closure period, bus stops on Brush Creek Rd. between Owl Creek Rd. and Horse Ranch Rd. will be closed. All other bus stops will remain open and operational, with modified bus schedules.

The park-and-ride at Town Park Station will remain open.

PROJECT UPDATE: 3:04 P.M.
Snowmass Village, Colo.--February 27, 2014--According to the Snowmass Water & Sanitation District and the Town of Snowmass Village, the broken water main on Brush Creek Rd. near the intersection of Sinclair Rd. has been repaired and water service has been restored. The Brush Creek Rd. closure remains in effect until 6 p.m. Friday, February 28 to allow crews to adequately fill and seal the trench for matters of public safety, and to ensure an driveable road surface.

The Snowmass Water and Sanitation District is posting notices to all affected customers that service has been restored, and requesting that customers run water through their lines to remove any air that may be in the lines.

District personnel will also be flushing the lines in the vicinity in order to clear the air that may have entered the line during the repair work.
