The Town of Snowmass Village completes 2024 wildfire mitigation projects in partnership with Roaring Fork Fire & Rescue (RFFR).
The Town of Snowmass Village completes wildfire mitigation projects throughout the village annually. In 2024, the town invested over $100,000 to complete this work in partnership with Roaring Fork Fire & Rescue (RFFR) and Snowmass Homeowners Association (SHOA).
Projects include the thinning of overgrown vegetated areas, removing fire fuels (dead or diseased vegetation), and increasing the defensible fire areas near buildings and infrastructure. This work improves the health of Snowmass Village's natural areas and helps reduce the risk of wildfire in and around the village.
Each project area is selected based on need and occurs on public or privately held lands. Homeowner Associations (HOAs) are welcome to contact the Town to partner on mitigation projects.
