What We Do

The Community Development Department, which includes both building and planning, aims to build our sense of community, enhance economic vitality, and protect our natural assets by responsibly planning the built environment through implementing the town’s Land Use Development Code, Building Code, and Comprehensive Plan (PDF). Community Development is a regulatory department and also facilitates long-term planning projects.

Records Digitization Project

The Community Development Department is starting a several-month-long project to digitize planning documents. During the course of the project, physical access to some documents will be unavailable while they are being digitized. 

To maintain access to these records, a document may be requested at any point. Staff can produce a digital copy of the document on request. Please note that lead times may be several days as the contractor will have to locate and scan the document requested. To make a request, contact Community Development at (970) 923-5524.
