Brush Creek Road Detour in Place Through Sunday

The annual JAS Labor Day Music Festival is underway, and Brush Creek Road will remain closed at Town Park. The closure will be in place until midnight on Sunday, September 1st.

During this time, please follow the detour around Town Park by using Highline and/or Owl Creek Road.

Creating a Vision for Town's Largest Park

The Town is undertaking a master planning process to create a clear vision for the entryway and Town Park area in Snowmass Village. Town Park is the community's largest park consisting of 22 acres of public land, and it has the opportunity to become an even better amenity for the residents of Snowmass Village by more effectively utilizing the space available.

This master plan update is being guided by the community input and priorities that emerged from the 2016 POSTR Plan, but we still want your input on this process. Follow the link below to learn more and find out how to get involved.

Leash is the Law

Dogs Must Be Leashed on all TOSV Trails

If you take your furry companion hiking this September, be sure to bring a leash. Dogs are required to be on leash at all times on all Town trails.

Leashes are important safety tools to prevent your pet from chasing wildlife, disturbing other trail users, or confronting another dog. Although your dog might be a well-mannered and polite pup, not all dogs will react the same way. Having a dog off leash can create a lot of anxiety for other dogs, who are on leash, and create an unsafe environment. A dog who is not restrained can also make other trail users uncomfortable.

Please do your part to maintain the best trail etiquette in Snowmass Village, and leash your dog. Failing to do so will result in a fine.

Fire Conditions Intensifying

Dry Weather Creating High Fire Danger

Although fire restrictions have not been implemented, conditions in the region are becoming increasingly dry and high risk for wildfire danger. The Roaring Fork Valley has not had significant rainfall in the last several weeks, and the Sheriff and Fire Officials are warning the public to use caution with fire.

Never leave fires or hot coals unattended.
Make sure your fire Is dead out before you leave.
Do not throw cigarettes out a car window or on the ground.
All personal fireworks are illegal.
Make sure your trailer chains are not dragging. They could create a spark that could Ignite nearby vegetation.
Use properly functioning spark arrestors.
Do not park, drive, or idle on vegetation.
Have an evacuation plan and practice it!

Fun September Events Coming Up

Summer May be Winding Down, but We're Not

There are many fun events coming up this September right here in Snowmass Village. Here's a preview of some of our favorites:

Snowmass Balloon Festival – September 6-8: The 44th Annual Snowmass Balloon Festival, a long-standing Rocky Mountain tradition, fills the sky with eclectic balloons, as 30 pilots launch their hot air balloons into the air, daily at 7:00am in Snowmass Town Park. On Friday, September 6, the Balloon Night Glow from 7:00pm-9:00pm lights up the sky in Snowmass Town Park, a new venue for 2019.

Cidermass – September 7: Cidermass returns to the Snowmass Mall from 1:00pm-4:00pm, featuring hard cider tastings from 30 vendors from all over the country. Tickets, including a three-hour tasting and a commemorative glass, are $35 in advance or $45 day of. Must be 21+ to attend.

Septemberfest – September 7: The third annual Septemberfest returns to Snowmass Base Village to celebrate all things fall with shopping, tastings, beverages, and games from 4:00pm-7:00pm. The festival includes live music, lawn games, local vendors & artisans, and children’s activities. Septemberfest is free and open to all ages, with donations benefiting local nonprofit, Challenge Aspen.

Snowmass Wine Festival – September 14: Experience a weekend of incredible food, flavors, sights and sounds at the Snowmass Wine Festival, hosted by Rotary Club of Snowmass Village. Tickets for the Grand Tasting are on sale now for $95 / person, and the price increases to $105 / person at the door.

Village Shuttle Fall Schedules

Fall Service Begins on Monday, September 16th

Fall service begins Monday, September 16th, which marks the return of off season schedules. Most regular routes will become "on demand" service only, with the exception of Route 3.

15 minute service the Intercept Lot and RFTA connections will also continue through the fall.

Town Offices Closed Labor Day

Snowmass Village Recreation Center is OPEN!

Town administrative offices will be closed on Monday, September 2nd in observance of Labor Day. The Snowmass Village Recreation Center, however, will remain open throughout the holiday weekend and the JAS Labor Day festival. Happy Labor Day!
