Drafting the 2019 Town Budget

Budget Shows Town in Strong Financial Position

Initial work on the Town of Snowmass Village's 2019 budget has started with staff reviewing current operations, identifying potential adjustments to meet community needs, and an initial review of capital projects and investments. These efforts revolve around the Town Council's strategic goals:

  • Affordable Housing
  • Community Engagement
  • Community Building
  • Safety
  • A Continued Commitment to Resiliency
  • Regionalism

Overall, the Town remains in a very strong financial position, and the 2019 draft budget strives to allocate the Town's resources to deliver high quality services, and ensure the Town remains a fun, community focused, and family friendly village.

The all-volunteer Financial Advisory Board Reviewed the draft budget during a four hour meeting on September 19th. The Town Council will receive a presentation of the draft budget at their meeting on Monday, October 1st and begin their review. Community members are welcomed to attend the meeting and provide feedback on the draft budget.

Single Stream

Recycling in Snowmass Village

Celebrating 4 Years of Single Stream Recycling

The Town of Snowmass Village began offering single-stream recycling over four years ago, allowing our residents and guests to begin placing all recyclables into a single container. This makes recycling easier than ever.

However, contamination of our recycling stream remains a major problem. Plastic bags, trash bags, plastic wrappers, diapers, food waste, and clothing items are NOT recyclable, and they are consistently showing up in recycling containers. Items such as these contaminate the entire dumpster, and they can cause ALL of the recyclables to be rejected and sent to the landfill. Please make sure you are disposing of items responsibly, and "when in doubt, throw it out!"

Below is a quick overview of what is and isn't allowed in our single-stream recycling program, but you can find additional details, guides, and information at www.tosv.com/recycle.

If you would like to order FREE recycling guides, magnets, and stickers for your home or commercial property, email us.
