Marijuana in TOSV

Town Council Work Session Scheduled for Monday, May 14th

On the topic of marijuana in TOSV, as you may know, Town Council recently asked the Marketing, Group Sales and Special Events Board to provide a recommendation on the moratorium issue as it relates to TOSV’s family-friendly image. On April 19, the Board advised that it would not oppose TOSV pot shops “off the beaten path with modest publicity,” believing the shops would not hurt the town’s family-friendly image. A detailed Snowmass Sun article more fully covering this topic may be found at the following link:

Additionally, the Aspen Daily News recently reviewed the thorny topic of where to legally consume marijuana in TOSV.  As previously discussed, there are few places to legally “smoke” marijuana in TOSV while generally speaking, consumption of edibles may be easier.  For part time residents with rental properties, this continues to present an ancillary issue for consideration.  For an interesting discussion, the following is a link to that article:

While Town Council continues to carefully evaluate the marijuana moratorium issues, we encourage part time residents who missed the earlier TOSV marijuana survey deadline, to submit any comments that you may have on this topic to Travis Elliott at telliott@tosv.com.  He will forward your part time resident comments to Town Council.  The moratorium is currently set to expire in October 2018.

Participate in Town Clean Up Day

38th Annual Town Clean Up Day is Friday, May 18th at 9 a.m.

Snowmass is having its annual Town Clean Up Day and we encourage all part time residents to join in. Last year over 95 people showed up which was a record number. Those good citizens picked up trash, built a retaining wall and performed a good old fashioned beautification all over. This is a great opportunity to get to know your neighbors better and help the community.

We’ll endeavor to keep you updated on these and other TOSV issues which concern part time residents. In the meantime, we wish you a lovely spring.

Warm Regards,

Part Time Residents Advisory Board
