COVID-19 Travel and Vacation Rental Restrictions:
Hello Snowmass Village Part-time Residents:
Wherever you find yourself during these unprecedented times, we hope this email finds you well and healthy. We miss having you in the Village, but we really appreciate your consideration of not being here right now. Our local hospital is fantastic, but it is small and has limited capacity. By staying at your primary residence, you are helping keep the capacity at Aspen Valley Hospital available to permanent residents who must be here and do not have another choice.
Ptikin County has issued a Public Health Order which prohibits people from staying in hotels and other short-term rentals in Snowmass Village, all of Pitkin County, and Aspen. If you have your property listed you need to be sure and block out dates that are restricted by this order.
While part-time homeowners are welcome to use their residences themselves, we ask that you please remain at your primary residence, or wherever you are self-isolating, until further notice. If you have already chosen to visit your home here in Pitkin County, you and your accompanying family, friends and guests returning to these properties are required to self-quarantine on your property for a period of fourteen (14) days once you arrive here. Quarantine means you must not leave your home and you must not have contact with any other people outside of your residence. This quarantine requirement is intended to prevent the possible spread of communicable disease. To be clear, during the period of quarantine, the quarantined people must stay inside their residence. Any travel outside your home is prohibited. Any necessary travel from your home must be coordinated and approved by the Pitkin County Public Health Department in advance.
For those wanting to visit their home here in the Village, we know this is difficult, but it is the law. We appreciate your patience and understanding as we enforce the law.
If you have any questions about this provision, or any provision of the Public Health Order, please let us know.
Sincerely,
Markey Butler, Mayor
Clinton Kinney, Town Manager
Brian Olson, Chief of Police
