In addition to our favorite off-mountain activities that keep our families entertained each winter there are a few new programs and activities in Snowmass to check out.
Ice Age Cafe
Kid's storytelling at the Ice Age Discovery Center has been a popular activity for the kids. But a new program this winter provides some fun for the adults. Enjoy a hot beverage and discussion on the historic fossil find at the new Ice Age Cafe hour at the Ice Age Discovery Center Thursdays, 4-5 p.m. from January 15th through March 26th. For more information call 970-922-2277.
VIK (Very Important Kids)
The VIK program, offered by Related Colo., Snowmass Tourism, and the Aspen SkiCo, is a full calendar of kid-friendly activities seven days-a-week tailored to locals and visitors alike. Kid's crafts, movie night, and hip hop dance night are but a few things kid's can enjoy while mom and dad get a break for dinner. Lanyards featuring the full schedule serve as an "all access pass." For more information, visit their
website or call 970-429-8173.
The Snowmass "Info Lounge"
Located in Base Village (across from Clark's Express) the new Info Lounge serves as a guest service station, but pulls double duty as a spot to take a break, plug in your iphone, or get a hot drink.
Fitness Classes at the Snowmass Village Recreation Center.
In the fall, the Recreation Center made changes to their memberships - which now include regular
fitness classes. Try cardio kickboxing, yoga, trx, mixed martial arts, or indoor cycling. New weekend hours mean the Rec Center opens Saturdays and Sundays at 8 a.m., giving you an opportunity to fit a workout in before you hit the slopes.
